On Saturday night two people were injured in a ATV accident on the west side of town near Bell County Coal in Middlesboro. According to the Bell County Sheriffs office a male and female, identified as Tanner Lefevers and Blair Bowling, were involved in the crash. Both sustained injuries and were transported to the UT hospital in Knoxville. According to the report the ATV and a jeep were involved in the crash.

Driver Austin Neely was injured Saturday night during a race at the Tazewell Speedway. He was racing in the limited late models. Reports are that Neely’s car bumped into the wall then flipped several times. Eyewitnesses said he was alert, but was taken for medical evaluation. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, but the true extent is not known at this time. No other drivers were injured, according to sources.
An on going investigation by the Union County Sheriffs Office involving a shooting death on Megan Lane in Luttrell has resulted in homicide charges.
The investigation started on 10-13-17 at 4:11 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the incident. Union County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives arrived on the scene to find the victim lying next to the road with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. The victim has been identified as Adam Paulette (26) of Luttrell.
Martin Gammon (57) of Luttrell was located at the scene and detained during the investigation. Gammon was arrested and charged with criminal homicide. The investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a neighbor dispute. Gammon is being held at the Union County Jail under a $1,000,000 bond.
