Three people were found dead in Whitley County Wednesday afternoon.
It happened off of Deep Creek Road in the Maple Creek Community. Officials from Whitley County Sheriff’s Department said all three deaths are being ruled as homicides.
“The owner of the residence, Kathy Faulkner, located her daughter inside and thought it was a suicide at first”, said Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell. “And later she found two others outside the residence.”

Sheriff Harrell said early evidence leads him to believe the crime is a murder.

Sheriff Harrell said there are people of interest in the investigation. No arrests have yet been made in the case.

A woman has been charged with complicity of murder and police say the man that pulled the trigger is still on the run.

The shooting happened on July 4, when investigators say 40-year-old Matthew Caldwell showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s house and then shot and killed 34-year-old Jody Sevier at the home on Hwy 2467, about 15 miles south of Manchester.

Earlier in 2016, police say they were called to Sevier’s home, after receiving a domestic disturbance call involving his ex-girlfriend and her child.

On Thursday police announced that Caldwell is charged with murder and robbery and Angelina Grubb is charged with complicity to commit murder and complicity to commit robbery.

Police say they found a pipe bomb in Caldwell’s vehicle after the shooting.

They are still looking for Caldwell he will face murder and robbery.
