Police say a Bell County burglar was caught after trying to sell items at a pawn shop.
Darrell Wayne Williams is accused of burglarizing a Middlesboro home.

Willams reportedly tried to sell items stolen from the home at East End Pawn Shop.

Williams is charged with burglary.

The Bell County Sheriffs office reports

On Thursday at 6:03pm Bell County Dispatch received a call of an accident with injuries and possible entrapment on Highway 25E approximately a half mile from Pilot in the northbound lane.
Responding to the scene was Bell County Deputy Patrick Brooks who found a four door black Mazda in a ditch line up against an embankment. The female driver was being attended to by Middlesboro Fire/EMS personnel and had a head injury.

After speaking to witnesses still on scene, Deputy Brooks determined that the driver lost control of her vehicle swerved into the median, over corrected, and crossed over both lanes flipping at one point coming to rest in the ditch line.
After being questioned by medical personnel and Officer Brooks the woman refused EMS transport to the hospital and was taken by a family member to Middlesboro ARH for treatment of her injuries.

Deputy Brooks states a criminal investigation is pending.
Also assisting on scene was the Bell County Rescue Squad and the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department.

According to Bell County Jailer Gary Ferguson he had been conducting an internal investigation into the possibility of illegal distribution of drugs inside of the Bell County Detention Center, by one or more Detention Center officers.

Pineville City Police Officer Curtis Pingleton was at the detention center and made the arrest of an on duty correctional officer. 47 year old Steven Edwards was charged with trafficking in controlled substance and promoting contraband. The investigation is ongoing and being handled by Officer Pingleton.
