A one vehicle accident on the Beltline Thursday evening injured two people. According to MPD Harvey Johnson witnesses stated the vehicle was traveling at a high rate speed when the driver clipped a pole and then over corrected causing the vehicle to flip multiple times. Air Evac was called in to transport the couple. According to Officer Johnson they were wearing their seat belts which prevented them from being thrown from the vehicle. External and internal injuries were suspected.
Another accident was reported on KY 66 on Thursday evening. According to sources close to the wreck said a vehicle had flipped over onto it’s top. No other information was available to News Center 22.

The Middlesboro Board of Education met for a special-called meeting on Wednesday at the Middlesboro Central Office at noon.
There were only two items on the agenda, a recommendation for the board to approve the job description for alternative education teacher and for the board to increase the athletic director’s salary.
The first item was unanimously approved after a discussion of why a change was needed. In short, two positions were being converted to one due to various changes affecting enrollment numbers.
The second item was also unanimously approved after a discussion of the importance of the role of the athletic director.

A Harlan man is facing multiple charges including theft of a firearm after allegedly stealing handguns out of multiple vehicles.
Ricky Austin Britt, 19, was arrested on Thursday by Loyall City Police Chief Mike Lunsford.
According to Lunsford, the case began with an arrest earlier this year involving a handgun.
