The Middlesboro City Council met for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday.
Possibly the most anticipated item on the agenda — the second reading of a consideration of an ordinance regulating the sale of alcohol beverages within the city limits of Middlesboro, Kentucky, was temporarily postponed while the powers at be continue to clarify the last couple of questions council members had concerning the first reading of the consideration of the ordinance at last month’s meeting. MCTV 22 will replay the meeting tonight at 6 pm.
The Middlesboro Board of Education met in a regular meeting Tuesday to discuss a Youth Career Connect grant, a technology update, a construction update and recent happenings at the schools. MCTV22 will replay this meeting next Tuesday at 6 pm.

The man accused of murdering a Campbell County woman entered a plea deal.
Lonnie Vann, 44, a former LaFollette Middle School teacher pleaded guilty to second degree murder, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence and assault. Vann said he was pleading guilty because he is guilty.
In December 2014, Vann killed Rhonda Daugherty, according to the D.A.’s office. Rhonda Daughtery’s body has not been found. However, the state brought forward evidence in court that may shed some light on her death.
