On Sunday at approximately 2:02am Bell County Dispatch received a call of an accident with injuries. Responding was Lt. Dan Tuttle who discovered a 2003 Chevy Tracker driven by Randi Hatfield had been traveling west on KY 74 around the Bell County Coal Company.
Tuttle determined that Ms. Hatfield lost control of her vehicle due to slippery road conditions. She then slid off the road on the right shoulder hitting the ditch line and embankment which caused the vehicle to roll several times before coming to a stop. Ms. Hatfield was transported to Middlesboro A.R.H. by Middlesboro Fire and Ambulance Service for treatment of injuries. Ms. Hatfield was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Also assisting own scene was the Bell Co Volunteer Fire Department and the Bell Co Rescue Squad.

A traffic stop conducted by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of two men on drug charges on Friday.
John L. Allen, 44, of Cranks, was arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Lewis.
Russell Jones, 58, of Cranks, a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested by Harlan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Brewer.
Both were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond secured by 10 percent.

Four Middlesboro residents were recently arrested at the Days Inn motel on various felony drug and weapon charges.
According to the arrest citations, Amanda Denise Widener, 27, Kacee Marie Jones, 24 ,Rachaad Cloud, 30, and Brandon Brock, 27, were all in room 227 at the motel when officers arrived. Among the items found in the motel room were a counterfeit $50 bill, various handguns, plastic baggies containing a clear rock substance that field tested positive for meth, rolling papers, razors, cut straws, syringes and several other items.
